Kelley Covey History

Kelley Covey Group was established in February 2002 following the merger of Kelley Engineers of Tamworth and Covey Associates of Maroochydore, Queensland.

The Kelley Covey Group has retained some of the founding staff of Kelley Engineers, which was first established by the late Fred Kelley in Tamworth in 1962.

Kelley Covey Group is part of the integrated and supportive Covey Associates Group, which has the head office in Maroochydore and a visiting office in North Lakes-Brisbane and Papua New Guinea.

Between them, the Kelley Covey Group and Covey Associates teams oversee large-scale projects across Australia and around the globe in regions of Papua New Guinea, Fiji and the Middle East.

The Kelley Covey team has compiled an impressive portfolio of successful projects to date, and they are particularly renowned for bringing their industry experience to the construction of multi-million dollar projects of medical centres and equestrian, harness racing and greyhound facilities in NSW and the Middle East.

Kelley Covey Group has also been the driving force behind one of regional New South Wales’ most ambitious projects, the development of the Tamworth Racing precinct.

This exemplary racing precinct is the first of its kind and will cement Tamworth’s reputation as Australia’s regional racing leader and provide a model for future racing precinct developments.

Overseas, the firm created and project-managed the wharf design and construction, accommodation and mess hall for the Simberi Gold Mine in Papua New Guinea and was part of a joint venture for upgrading 15 telecommunication towers for PNG Telecom from Lae to Rabaul.
